Screenshock.com is currently being built and run by Ernst Vollbrecht (texter, designer, Journalist) and Klaus Möller (artist, media and educational scientist). The idea to make a platform for net.art came about in late 1998. Screenshock was originally planned as the independent creative division of a media agency of the same name. It developed quickly into a platform for the arts. In the summer of 1999 it went on the web and grew slowly but steadily.

We have very high standards that we set for our work and for the work presented here. Instead of mass fast consumption we emphasise awareness and concentration. With this we hope to have the chance to use the web not as a consuming and compensating medium, but also as a communications medium!
